|No leave of absence is granted except on a written application from parents or guardian and that only for serious reasons. The leave must be entered on the ‘Leave Record’ page on the diary and must be duly signed by the Principal before it is taken. A pupil taking leave without permission of the Principal may be dismissed from the school forthwith.
If a pupil is absent due to sickness, the Principal must be informed at once. When a pupil who has been absent for any reason returns to school, he must bring the excuse duly entered on the ‘Absence Record’ page of the diary and signed by the parents or guardian. Otherwise the pupil will be refused admission and sent home. In this case the school disclaims all responsibility.
Pupils not returning punctually to school after the holidays are liable to have their names struck off the roll.
No boy / girl who has been absent from school, or who misses the first period of the first or second session will be admitted to class unless he/she brings a written excuse from home.
Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a pupil. Pupils are responsible to the school authorities for their conduct both in and outside the school. Hence misbehaviour in public streets and conveyance is liable to dismissal.
Running, playing or shouting inside the school building is not allowed.
All kinds of damages done to the School Property will have to be made good.
Personal cleanliness and hygiene are expected from all.
At the ‘first bell’ i.e. five minutes before the meeting commences all must take their allotted places. Then the assembly will be held after which all go in silence to their respective class rooms.
No books, newspapers or periodicals or comics may be brought into the school premises without the Principal’s sanction.
The school is not responsible for the loss of books, money, clothes etc. Students must look after their own things. It is not advisable for them to bring valuable articles to school.
Students are expected to speak in English in the school premises.
Parents are expected to be co-operative with the staff in enforcing regularity and discipline by seeing that their children prepare their lesson and do their home-work as shown in their diaries and by taking an active and helpful interest in the activities of the school.
Parents are particularly requested to sign the progress report and other reports from teachers sent through the diaries. The students will not be admitted into class if their reports are not duly signed, and the school disclaims all responsibility.
Parents, guardians or other persons are not allowed to see the pupils or interview their teachers during school hours without the sanction to the
Principal. As the staff should be preferably seen in their off periods, an appointment with them should be made beforehand.
The Principal has authority to inflict punishment, as may be deemed necessary.
On class days and at school functions the Students should wear the school uniform except onbirthdays.
Students who come to school without uniform must bring a note of excuse from parents or guardian, else they will be sent home and the school disclaims all responsibility.
Discipline must be maintained at all times in the Classroom, Activity room, or the games field.
Attendance is mandatory. No student must absent himself on any pretext other than sickness. Students taking sick leave must submit a medical certificate to the class teacher along with the application.
Repeated absence without prior notice or unexplained absence for more than ten consecutive days renders the student liable to have his name struck off the rolls. Re-admission may be granted only on payment of fresh admission fee or on the discretion of the Principal.
Students are advised to keep their classroom, school building and campus as clean as possible (should not litter the place)
Care must be taken of the school property. No student should damage any school furniture or scribble on walls, desks or black board. Damage done should be reported at once to the class teacher. Recovery for any damage will be made from the concerned student.
A sick child should not be sent to school. In case of an emergency, when the school doctor instructs so, parents will be requested to take their child back.
Under no circumstances will the child be allowed to leave school without an authority letter-permission slip from parents duly sanctioned by the Principal.
The acts of bunking school, bunking class, damaging school property, using obscene language, fighting or bullying classmates, showing disrespect to elders, disregard of school rules or indulging in violent behaviour in the school will lead to severe disciplinary action by the school authorities.
St. Paul’s students will be expected, to conduct themselves as gentlemen whether in School or outside.
Students should arrive at the School 5 minutes before the bell rings for the assembly. Punctuality and regularity will be instilled in the students from the very beginning.
The students should be in complete and neat uniform. Boys and girls whose appearance in dress is untidy will be refused admission to the class room.
For the sake of uniformity the parents should see the sample cloth put up on the School Notice Board for the uniform.
The School Diary is to be brought to School daily. Parents/Guardians should actively co-operate with the teachers by following the progress of their ward in the diary where their daily work is noted. Special attention should be paid to the teacher’s remarks.
Reports of conduct, application and progress are issued at the end of each test and are sent to parents or guardians. The reports should be returned the following day duly signed by the parent or guardian. If the pupil fails to bring the report duly signed, he/she will be sent home forthwith. In this case the school disclaims all responsibilities.
Leave or absence from School for minor social or family occasion is strictly discouraged. Students absent form School due to sickness or any reason should bring a note to that effect in their diary on rejoining the School.
No student is allowed to bring Mobile Phones to school. Those found guilty will have to pay a fine of Rs. 500/-.
Fees will be collected Quarterly-July, October, January and March. Fees for the current term are to be paid by the 1st to 9th of the first month of the term. Defaulters may be refused admission to class and fined. Fee is to be paid in Oriental Bank of Commerce Bank at Lanka Gate. Fee can be paid in School Office only on Monday & Saturday from 9:00 am. to 12:00 noon. The Fees for the Fourth Term should be paid by 9th March before the Annual Examination.
